The Orchid Bistro
Hey Guys! How has your weekend been?
So I am excited to write my second restaurant review. I have actually had this one on the books for a while as I did actually eat there for the first time last year, but I decided to post it now after a second visit yesterday night. So I'm going to actually make two posts on the restaurant. I'm going to start with the review of the food from my first visit.
So The Orchid Bistro is this little gem hidden in Isaac John Street, G.R.A. I first learned of it from a blog post on Eat.Drink.Lagos, and I just had to check it out. So the first time I went, I took my mum and little sister along. We didn't order any starters, so I'm going to describe the entrees.
I ordered the highly recommended Baby Back Ribs with a side of french fries. The pork was well coated in honey and barbecue sauce, but the sauce didn't really seep into the meat on the inside. One good thing was that the meat was easy to cut.
My sister had the chicken stir-fry and braised rice, and according to her, it was quite good. The chicken was well cooked and spicy, and a good thing was that both of our meals came with a side of cooked veggies ( Yum!).
My mum went with her favorite protein- tuna. She had a tuna melt sandwich.
For drinks, they stuck with water while had a glass of lemonade which was surprisingly freshly made not processed. Lastly, we had a brownie and custard for dessert. It tasted heavenly. The brownie was cold but moist and sweet at the same time, and the warm sugary taste of the custard complimented it perfectly.
